Just finished this and was so blown away by the writing. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me want to bookmark half the pages and underline passages (I didn't of course). I want to press this book into the hands of all my friends and say "read this". Such a life affirming story. Any other fans (or otherwise) out there?

I am three quarters of the way through this- just stunning writing-not fast moving but such a sense of place and time.

He is the nicest man, and I haven’t read this one, but I find his earlier novels terribly sentimental.

This is so random because I’d never heard of this book but saw Jennifer Garner recommending it in an interview today! Added to my list.
