I got that too, off the back of a thread here on MN 😆
It's really interesting 😁

The list of Suspicious people, Jennie Godfrey.

DarkEyedSailor · 26/12/2025 19:17

Four books on Victorian social history - two by Judith Flanders.

HappyFace2025 · 26/12/2025 19:18

Not one and I specifically requested two titles that I really want from both adult DDs. Got bath bombs from one and some more bath stuff and socks from the other. 😥
The books I will now buy myself are The Artist which I first read on my Kindle and loved so much I really want a hard copy; the second is a new American book called The Correspondent.

JM88Jen · 26/12/2025 19:19

Kathy Burke's autobiography

The Safekeep is an unusual read but very good imo. I got stuck halfway through but picked it up again after I read some reviews.

I have read both and enjoyed!

None 😭

The Safekeep is a great read. Not conventional and a difficult subject but the writing is sublime.

I have so many on my TBR pile so will have enough for 2026.

usedtobeaylis · 26/12/2025 19:24

Dream Count - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
The Martian - Andy Weir
The Women - Kristin Hannah

My favourite 2025 book (and Waterstones too!,) hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

ProfessionalTeaDrinker · 26/12/2025 19:25

No actual books but did get book vouchers so I'm ready to go shopping asap!

Oh we love those!

DS1 is a budding bookworm and he adores them.

I got the latest Thursday Murder Club and a book about a man who lives for a year with a flock of wild turkeys. There was a doco on him recently and it was fascinating. DH got a first edition PG Wodehouse and The Forager's year and he is a mad keen forager.

DS1 got Dracula and DS2 got a book about cats.

Honnomushi · 26/12/2025 19:27

I got mostly T Kingfisher books which I'm very happy with. Currently on Paladins Strength and really enjoying it.

Me too! Can’t wait to start it.

P00hsticks · 26/12/2025 19:54

not strictly a Christmas present, but I was recently at a LIterature Festival where I bought myself a signed copy of Belinda Bauer's book ' The Impossible Thing', and promised myself I'd save it for Christmas. Started it Christmas Day morning and finished it the same day (we have a very quiet Christmas, just me and OH).
