Is life too short to read your "to be read" pile?

I have at least 30 books yet to be read, plus whatever is on my kindle (up to 20). But i still keep acquiring more and choosing those over the ones in the pile.

Admittedly, I have struggled to get back into reading , so am picking things I think will hold my interest and be an easy or gripping read. That said, I still feel like I "ought" to choose from my pile.

There are SO many books though. What do others do?

I'm trying a no buy year, but especially for books. My TBR is overwhelming rather than comforting. I need to reduce and then catch up.

Thats a good idea. I mighr just buy a few before the new year....

I used to be so bad when I was younger, every time I saw a second hand book shop I would have to go in and inevitably I would buy books! Eventually I decided to stop buying and read what I had in my pile!

My dad used to take us to Hay-on-Wye to the second hand bookshops when we were kids. I loved going there!

Do something positive about it . Press delete !

Get rid . I've got Kindle Unlimited , Prime , a sucker for 99p books , on Borrowbox , in a book club , review on NetGalley and visit the library . My life is all about books !
But life is to short to read unfulfilling books.

I love having a TBR but I don't stick rigidly to it and I will give up a book if I'm not enjoying it. Life isn't too short to have a TBR, it's just too short to ever possibly get to the end it!
