I’ve just finished The Haunted Book by Jeremy Dyson. I loved the whole conceit of it being like a literary equivalent of “found footage” and the book-within-a-book-within-a-book structure, plus being really well written and spooky (I was definitely jumpy whenever the house creaked while I was reading!)
I was looking for books like it and saw The House of Leaves recommended as another creepy story presented in similar way, but I’m a put off of by all the mentions of pages of footnotes etc. Has anyone read it? Is it worth it, or just too postmodern for its own good?
