How do you make sure you don’t miss out on books from favourite authors?

Obviously, you won’t miss that Dan Brown has written a new book, but how do you follow your favourite authors and make sure you don’t miss their new book if they are lesser known than the big author?

There's a website called Fantastic fiction. You can follow authors on there and get emails when a new book is announced. I think Amazon offer a similar function if you "follow" authors.

If you are a Kindle reader, you can follow them on Amazon.

It makes an author's day to get a follow, even though they are anonymous!

I follow them on Instagram. Same with actors and TV shows I'm interested in.

i didn’t know you could follow on Amazon, but I have just followed a few now so thank you. I don’t really use instagram or facebook, maybe I should.

Social media. Goodreads.

I follow on Amazon. Also I check on Goodreads for new releases by authors I’ve read - anything I fancy. Add to my Amazon wish list so I can get when it’s released. I can only find this on Goodreads on the web version not the app.

Ypu are most welcome, when they release anew book you should get advance warning!

Just follow the authors you wish to read and the weekly email summarises upcoming releases as well as a short recap of those from recent months.

For my current favourite actively producing author, I'm a member of several fan groups on facebook, so people excitedly remind each other.

If I like an author I follow them on goodreads. I track every book I read on there anyway as I like hitting a yearly goal (46 out of 52 read for this year so far) so it's not much extra effort to hit the follow button.

It also lets you add books to a "want to read" wish list so I don't forget about random recommendations or books I stumbled over and liked the look of but I was too busy at the time to start.

I also added some friends on there who have similar taste to me and it shows me what they are reading which helps me find out about stuff I may have forgotten to follow (or just for finding new stuff).

I do exactly the same @DoAWheelie I love Goodreads

Best I get more active on Goodreads!

Facebook groups, following authors in social media, emails from book shops. My local independent bookshop often does events with authors I favour so they tend to email about their events. Going to events often means other authors are there so I hear about their upcoming releases too.

Goodreads rocks! In a quiet, gentle bookish sort of way...
