Books for lovers of Mo Hayder

Want to buy my friend a book for her birthday but I’m pretty sure she’s read all of the MH books.
Am I right in thinking MH passed away recently?
Can anyone recommend another author or series of books that she might like?

Would suggest Val McDermid, or Karin Slaughter ( my taste sounds very similar to that of your friend ).
Early Patricia Cornwell books ( the Kay Scarpetta series) are good too, personally find the more recent ones very poor.
Maybe a book token so she can find a new favourite?

She’s about to start chemo so may not be able to get out to the shops so a token isn’t quite right.

Maybe Belinda Bauer? The Exmoor Trilogy is quite dark in a similar way to early Mo Hayder.

How about MW Craven’s Washington Poe series.
I love Mo Hayder’s books and am enjoying this series now.

I enjoy Mo Hayder’s novels and other authors I also like that your friend may not have read include Simon Kernick and John Verdon.
