Audible version of The Salt Path narrated by Anne Reid has disappeared from my library?

I had the first Anne Reid audible version of The Salt Path in my library and it has disappeared? It isn’t on my list of ‘returned’ books either?
The book was subsequently narrated by ‘Raynor’ herself, but mine was the original.
I have queried it with audible, they immediately gave me a credit!? With no explanation of where it had gone.

Does anyone else have the Anne Reid version in their library ? Or has it disappeared…….?

The books by ‘Raynor’ are still on there.

Did anyone buy the Anne Reid version and still have it in your library?

Anyone else lost their copy of The Salt Path from audible?

Mine is still there though I would like to return it!

@UnaOfStormhold is it the Anne Reid version?

I’ve had an email this morning from audible giving me another credit because of the inconvenience.

Perhaps the voice artist asked for her version of the book to be removed as she didn’t want to be linked to the lies?

That’s what I wondered @SheilaFentiman and wanted to know if anyone else had the same disappearing scenario!

Who "published" (is that the right term?) that particular audiobook? Can you contact Anne Reid's voice agent?

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 10/07/2025 17:04

I don't know, but I went looking for early Terry Pratchett books on audible the other day and the previously recorded books are showing there as unavailable because there are subsequently recorded versions. Admittedly the previously recorded books that I already own are still in my library, but could this be something to do with trying to drive all sales to the one version recorded by RW herself? Rather than split across two versions? I know this sometimes happens if a book is entered into awards, to prevent the vote being split?

For pratchett, it’s more likely that the digital rights to the voice artist’s track were time limited. I have a number of Wimsey audiobooks read by the actors who played him on TV, but all you can buy now are the female voice recorded ones (Jane someone)

You should still be able to buy the Robert Bathurst versions of the first 3 Wimsey books @SheilaFentiman. They all seemed to come out in November 2023 and I'm disappointed not to have seen any sign of the rest. I think he has pretty much exactly the tone.

I've no idea why they released all the Jane McDowell versions who sounds bored rigid.

Must take my own advice and ask RB voice agent if he will do any more.

If you like Robert Bathurst versions @SheilaFentiman perhaps we should mount a two women campaign to get more recorded.😁😁

Sorry for the derail

Ah, I have some of the Ian Carmichael ones! I loved those. Will try a Robert Bathurst.
