Book club recommendation - maybe a mystery?

My turn to choose and I'm completely stuck!
Thinking of The Lost Man by Jane Harper or We Begin at the End (?) by Chris Whitaker. (?)

I've read them both but I'll re-read them

Any other suggestions?

I don't want one of a series so that rules a lot out and I like ones with underlying themes.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro (science fiction but well worth a read), or Broken Country by Claire Hall (Mystery, also really worth a read!). Both have underlying themes

What about The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters? There's quite a lot to discuss there.
