Suggestions for My Holiday Reading Please

I'm off for a week in Madeira soon and need a book. I get most of my reading from the library but would rather take a book I can leave behind.

I love Rose Tremain, Anthony Trollope, Ian Mckewan, Chimamanda Ngoche, Claire Keegan, 19th century literature... Not keen on anything miserable or violent.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would be most grateful.

Colm Toibin- Brooklyn and Long Island or Ann Patchett- The Dutch House. Barbara Kingsolver- State of Wonder. I think they would fit the bill.

Or The Queen of Dirt Island and Stange Flowers by Donal Ryan.
