So as the title says, there was a book I read, probably in my teens that I really enjoyed and remember but can not remember the title or who wrote it. Wondering if anyone else will know it by my vague memory of it 🤣
It was about a girl called Charlie. Her family where well off and her dad was a criminal, her mum was sunbathing in the garden and the house was broken into and her mums legs were broken (something to do with the dad I think). Charlie leaves home and is now poor, she ends up working with a gruff fisherman on the beach.
I then vaguely remember her finding a room to rent. Finding a good job and meeting a man.
Anyone know what on earth I'm talking about? 🤣
