What else should I read?

I enjoy literary fiction but well written crime novels are my comfort read. I particularly like series. Really enjoyed the Shetland series but tried one of her earlier books and didn’t like it (seemed a bit dated but not in a good way like vintage crime fiction).

what do you suggest?

Try the Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons

Marsali Taylor also has a good crime series set on Shetland. ( Assuming you mean you’ve read the Ann Cleeve ones?)

The Anders Knutas series by Mari Jungstedt. They’re set on the Swedish island of Gotland so not dissimilar.

Elly Griffiths Norfolk series.

Peter May’s Lewis trilogy is good. The Blackhouse is the first one.

M W Craven's Washington Poe books.
I've just finished the first one, The Puppet Show, and I'm hooked.
