Have any of you read Susan Sontag's fiction?

I picked up a copy of The Volcano Lover, and just gave up after a few chapters, feeling very guilty.
Just found the style very off-putting.

It's years ago now but I remember absolutely hating that novel, I don't think I finished it though I can't now remember what bothered me about it, but I'm with you.

I feel guilty, because I admire her as an assertive intellectual woman, and I remember reading that she was very disappointed at the lukewarm reception of the novel ... but I just can't.
