Read 2 or 3 years ago. Middle class couple , think husband having an affair. Action mainly concerns their daughter who goes out/sneaks out at night.

She ends up in a nearby house, thinks she falls in love with squatter ? type from house which is next to a beautiful/magical garden.

The one I’m thinking of is The Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell. It’s not exactly as you describe but I reckon could be it?

I was going to say Lisa Jewell too. There's definitely one about some sort of communal garden.

This one is called The Girls and you have inspired me to re-read it. I can’t remember the ending!

I've recently discovered lisa jewell on my kindle and read two of her books in the space of 5 days 🤣 I also realised I have "the girls" hardback I bought at a charity shop and forgot about so I am buzzing now to read it! I'm currently reading the family upstairs xx
