Hi, I’d like to send my aunt an early Christmas gift, she’s on her own as her husband has early onset dementia and I know she finds the winter nights difficult. I’m not sure what she reads but something fun, Christmassy and ideally avoiding any storylines involving dementia.

really appreciate any recommendations, thankyou!

That’s a lovely idea. I really enjoyed the Christmas Shopaholic book by Sophie Kinsella a few years ago. It really got me in the Christmas mood. I haven’t read any of the other books and it didn’t make a difference at all. I don’t recall any references to dementia. It’s certainly not a storyline. I’m going to try the Secret Santa Project this year but I don’t know if it’s any good yet.

I saw a book in Waterstones that looks perfect (I can't handle anything sad at the moment which is why it sang to me).
Nice clothbound edition too.

I was in The Works the other day and they had a Christmas fiction section of books that looked light and fluffy. You can also get the historical novels that are light and easy to read by the likes of Dilly Court. Some of those are Christmas themed.
