Anyone read Welcome to the Hyuanam-Dong bookshop?

I want to like it but I am struggling. I lived in South Korea for a year so loving the names and sense of place but the main character is beginning to grate.

She got divorced and is NC with her family quit a standard job and has opened a bookshop, so there should be loads in there about her finding her feet ands new relationships (not romantic ones). But to me she has all the depth of a hallmark greetings card.

The reviews are glowing so I feel I must be missing something. Anyone read it? I’m half way through, does anything happen on the second half?

I haven’t read that one but I had similar feelings about Days at the Morisaki bookshop. I was really looking forward to it but it all came across as very wooden. Don’t know if it was the translation or the original writing but I was very disappointed with it.
If you haven’t read What you are looking for is in the Library give that one a go. I loved it.
