Youth editions of biographies

My 13 year old really enjoyed reading Bob No Ordinary Cat, which is an edited version of A Street Cat Named Bob. Bag language and drug references removed. We also have a youth version of The Martian. Can anyone recommend any other youth versions of books? He'd quite like sports (football) biographies or similar but I don't really want him reading about their infidelity and addictions! He's too old now to want to read the child orientated sports books, so we're looking for something inbetween. I don't even know the correct terminology to search. 'Youth versions of....' doesn't result in much, but they exist!

There are youth versions of
Hidden Figures
Black and British (history rather than biography)
Long Walk to Freedom

Seems to me you'd be safe if you bought biographies that were at least about 20 years old and about famous people.
And don't you think you might want to encourage him to read something beyond sports? When I was about his age, I was given teen-oriented biographies of people like Queen Victoria and Joan of Arc.
