Audible for older kids, how would this work?

I want to get an audiobook subscription for DD (11). My understanding is that one of us would need to sign up to Audible and she would then log into our account using a child's profile.

But what happens once she's old enough to have her own account, would she lose all her books?

I suppose the alternative is to set up a new account just for her but I'm not sure I want her to have her own Amazon account yet, and we would want to make sure she wasn't reading anything that wasn't age appropriate but at some point she won't need a child's profile and it seems a shame to then lose all the books when she's old enough to have free access. Not sure if I'm missing something!

But if you set up an Amazon account using an email and password she doesn't have access to? Would that work?

I thought about this, but she already has a children's Amazon account linked to our family membership and she uses it to play games on her Amazon Fire tablet, which is what she would use to listen to Audiobooks on. If we had to set up a new account I'm not sure whether she would lose all the apps, games etc she currently uses on her tablet.
