Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me an easy read, uplifting book please?

My lovely mum has just been diagnosed with cancer and is very swiftly becoming very unwell.

I'm an avid reader and need a book to help me in the quiet moments, but I can't concentrate on much, and every book I've begun recently has death or sadness in it.

I appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you

@crumpet I love St Clare's, Malory Towers, Worst Witch etc. Would I like Chalet School ? Looking for a new audiobook for an upcoming drive with boarding-school-story-loving dd14 from the far east of Sussex to the far west of Cornwall....

Chalet school is set earlier in time, starting pre war, so it is quite old fashioned. School set in Austria, with multi national pupils. Lots of ideas about healthy living - airing duvets on the balcony each day, medicated hot milk for sleep after a hectic adventure (for staff and children, whether they know about it or not!), resting after lunch, endless children born to the main characters as they age. Mountain slides, floods, falling into holes, plus general school issues. I adore them!
