Cosy books for autumn

Looking for some titles to help with the shorter days coming up and trying to embrace the seasons as we start heading in to autumn soon.

Books like Anne of Green Gables, The little house on the prairie series, Rosamund Pilcher, anything like that really.
Doesn't have to be historical although I seem to find they do 'coziness' better for some reason.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Little Women.
The Railway Children.

I have The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton lined up for October.

I love cosy books especially with a bit of history.

Eva Ibbotson (Magic Flutes, The Morning Gift, The Secret Countess, A Song for Summer, A Company of Swans)

E M Delafield (The Provincial Lady) (don't let the boring title put you off, she is hilarious and so relatable).

Dodie Smith (I Capture the Castle)

Mary Stewart (Thornyhold)

Joan Aiken (Castle Barebane)

Stella Gibbons (Cold Comfort Farm)

Elizabeth and her German Garden and Elizabeth von Arnim's The Enchanted April both to bring some warm sunshine in the colder months

If you like fantasy then Heather Fawcett (Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries) and Olivia Atwater (Half a Soul)

I've already started the Miniaturist. The trees are starting to show their Autumnal colours here and it's definitely cooler Wink

I did a bit of a search a few days ago for a cosy, autumnal book and this came highly recommended… not read it yet but I am excited to get my pumpkin spice candles lit in a couple of weeks and start reading! May be a little twee but thought it was worth adding to the reccomendations as I don’t think it gets more autumnal than this 🤣

I love a bit of Sherlock Holmes for autumn and winter reading!

The Box of Delights is winter reading too!

Green Knowe by LM Boston

I'd re-read those!
