I think about it a lot - which is unusual as I read so much!
Such a difficult challenging and thought provoking book

Do you mean 'My Dark Vanessa'? Not being pedantic, just making sure we are talking about the same book!

I read it. It was good. Dark, like the title. Really good insight into how insidious grooming is.

I read it a couple of years ago, loved it!

Yes I read this years ago and think about it every now and again! As PP said, an insight into grooming

Yes, I really enjoyed 85% of it. Thouhght it lost its way towards the end and the ending itself was a bit meh. The first half is excellent and so interesting as an example of an unreliable narrator etc.

Yes, I've read it and it stayed with me. Even in the 90s this stuff was going on and it seems so wrong now. I mean it was odd they kept in touch, I thought. But teacher and pupil relationships happened and certainly weren't taken as seriously as they would be today.
I recall friends going out with older boys (men!) in their early 20s when they were 15/16 and it was seen as "cool" to have an older boyfriend. It makes me feel ill now. It wasn't right then, it was never right.
