Not a holiday love rat as such but Sleeping with a Psychopath is good.

It is non-fiction and the woman- who writes it herself- was away from her normal life, in that she had got divorced and moved away to a new area of the country.
A man spins her all sorts of rubbish. I think he would qualify as a Love Rat!
