*SPOILER* Atlas the story of Pa Salt by Lucinda Riley - question *SPOILER*

SPOILER ALERT

Can anyone who's got this book help answer a question please? I finished the book and have returned it to the library, so I can't look this up myself.

Atlas finds out at the end of the book that Elle's note that she left in the bag at the ship spelled out a clue as to what happened to her, with the first letters of each line spelling out Kreeg.

I meant to go back and re-look at the letter Elle sent to Pip's parents after she'd gone missing, but I was so caught up in getting to the end of the book that I forgot. Can someone who has the book transcribe it here please? I want to see if there is another clue in that letter!

Thanks so much Smile

I finished this book/series this morning, if anyone is around who would like to chat about it?!

OP I had to go back to find the letter to Pip's parents too, and found the secret clue / acrostic poem above too!

Bump?

AprilShowerslastforHours · 04/08/2024 10:06

I’m always up for a chat about it. The one thing that annoyed me was at the end when the they went to say goodbye to Pa Salt one of the grandchildren was excluded. Ok, he wasn’t an actual descendent but nor was one who went with the others.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 04/08/2024 12:29

Pa Salt didn’t meet either of Merry’s children, did he?

One thing that irritated me was Georg’s repeated use of ‘girls’ when addressing the sisters, but I suppose that can be excused.

LondonGrimmer · 04/08/2024 23:47

@AprilShowerslastforHours yes, I wondered why Jack wasn't there to meet him and say goodbye at the end - he was his blood related grandchild after all.

Anyone else find it odd and a bit uncomfortable reading how in love Atlas was with Elle, and that they held hands and kissed when they were 11/12 years old?!

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 05/08/2024 06:44

Doesn’t anyone else think Mary-Kate should have met him too? I know she wasn’t related to him by blood but neither are most of the sisters, or Bear - the one grandchild he did meet.

LondonGrimmer · 05/08/2024 10:02

Yes, I think they all should have gone to say goodbye.

I also thought it laughable that Atlas's dad had taught him how to play the violin to an amazing level, and all about astronomy and Greek myth and legends...all by the age of five?!
