Kindle Paperwhite or Scribe?

Have a v. old paperwhite I've used for years and years. My Amazon account is now saying anytime I buy a kindle book that I don't have a suitable device 🙄 And none of my covers are downloading.

So, with Prime day coming up, I thought I'd look at getting a new Kindle.

Not sure whether to get a new Paperwhite, or to look at a Kindle Scribe? (I've read the other thread saying Oasis isn't worth the money!)

Scribe I'm thinking might double as a decent electronic notepad / sketchpad for work? But essentially I need the key function to be an e-reader with backlight for reading in bed.

Any firsthand experience / recommendations?

I've got both. I only use the Scribe these days.

I use the Notebooks feature a lot. I find it useful to have just one place where I make notes. You can create a Folder and within each folder you can create separate notebooks. You can email a notebook, which is converted to a pdf file.

I find the size of the Scribe screen better for reading, as it's larger - I read quite fast but I need a decent-sized font, so the larger screen holds more content.

I think what would be useful for you is to compare the overall size and the weight. The Scribe is 433g and the Paperwhite is 205g, so a significant difference. I don't read in bed, so I don't know how good the Scribe is in those circumstances.

Obviously there's a difference in cost, especially if you get the cover and the premium pen.

There are some Youtube videos that review the Scribe versus the Paperwhite, which you might find useful.

One thing that may or may not be relevant is that the Paperwhite is waterproof and the Scribe isn't.

I love my Scribe, I use the notepad function for work all the time. I prefer the larger screen for reading,.like the PP I prefer a larger font so that I can read in bed without my glasses on. It is heavier though if that's a consideration for you. I brought mine BNIB on eBay for half the price they sell on Amazon, so even with Prime Day, it's still worth shopping around.
