I have just finished this. It l lost interest a couple of times at the start, mainly due to work pressures, but I'm so glad I stuck with it
Has anyone got John Boyne recommendations. He has a fair few novels so I'd like to try another
I didn't realise at first that he was the author of the boy in the striped pajamas

all the broken places of course! It's the follow on from the striped pyjamas 😊

I've read a fair few of his books.
I liked 'A History of Loneliness' and 'A Ladder to the Sky'.

I'm reading this at the moment. I have recently read 'Water' and 'Earth' too. They are quick reads as less than 200 pages

If you liked that one then you'll probably enjoy History of Loneliness.

I think Ladder to the Sky is terrible. He wasn't in a good place when he wrote it and it shows.

There's a sequel to Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - a more grown up read (though not just for adults).

I haven't yet read Earth and Water but plan to as I'm hearing positive reports.

I have read a few of his books and have listened to Water on Audio as recommended on here.
All the Broken Places the sequel to The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas was a good read.

I just searched for this book to see the comments. I'm almost finished. I don't want to to end!! It's an amazing book, I absolutely love the characters and the way it's written. It's bloody hilarious. I didn't have John Boyne down as a comic writer.

His style reminds me a bit of John Irving and I think that's what he was going for. The book is dedicated to him and there is a reference to The World according to Garp.

This is definitely one of all time favourites for me. I couldn't recommend it enough

I loved it. One of my favourites and I'm also a big John Irving fan.

I enjoyed A Ladder To The Sky even though there are no likeable characters

The House of Special Purpose is amazing. I also enjoyed The Thief of Time, Crippen and the ones others mentioned.
