Parallel universe books? Like The Midnight Library, The Husbands

Can anyone recommend any? I’ve decided I enjoy this genre! Have just finished The Husbands and want to read more parallel universe type books. Also really liked The Midnight Library.

Life after Life by Kate Atkinson is about a woman whose life resets when she dies.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Clare North is about people who are reborn after they die.

Both great reads.

Oh yes I forgot about Life After Life! I read that a while ago. But I don’t know The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and will find it - thank you!

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch (Wayward Pines series is good too but not strictly parallel universe).

Kindred by Octavia Butler

His Dark Materials Series by Philip Pullman - a children's trilogy but very readable for adults.

On my 'to read' list is Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel and IQ84 by Haruki Murakami

Piranesi was a good read!

Following! I love this genre too. His dark materials is brilliant. I loved midnight library too and will check out husbands

Would something like Outlander work, where key people travel between periods of history?

Beyond the Moon by Catherine Taylor.
Not the best written but a good story.

Languedoc Trilogy by Kate Mosse.

The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas and the Night Circus by Erin Morganstern. My two favourites!

The End of Mr Y was great and deserves a reread. She wrote some other good ones too.

Coraline by Neil Gaiman. A bit scary 😬

The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett - a sliding-doors type account of three ways a relationship could have gone.

Ooh, nice thread. I didn't realise this was a whole genre. I really like Growing Up Again, by Catriona McCloud.

I loved Piranesi, and also second The Sea of Tranquility.

Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever - Stephen Donaldson

The Sea of Tranquility is utterly beautiful.

Mandel's Station Eleven is equally exquisite and the TV series is by far one of my favourites.

Marge Piercy’s Woman on the Edge of Time.

This may sound like a strange recommendation as it’s also a psychological thriller, but Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister is brilliant!

The Binding - Bridget Collins

It has a feel of other time / other world whilst not being heavily fantasy. I loved it.
