Thought I'd just share this.
It's called number thirty two by Cassie Steward.
Absolutely brilliant. It's her debut novel but there's another one in the pipeline.
A contemporary family saga.
I have absolutely no affiliation with the author etc just thought I'd share as books as good as these are a rare thing

I’ve downloaded it - I’ll give it a crack next x

I've downloaded it on your recommedation, looking forward to reading it later.

When your title said best book you've ever read ... i felt a cringe ... I expected something about a twist! Apologies there, but so many books or films are promoted as having a twist, to me it's just an indicator that everything you read in the book earlier on was bogus. Worst one was about a couple, say Jo and Chris. One was abusive, the big twist was that it was the female who was abusive, not the male. Doh!

Was intrigued enough by your post to download the free sample but didn't like the writing style and got bored after a few paragraphs.

The best book I've ever read is Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Pure perfection. Everyone should read it.

It's always very subjective with books. I very rarely recommend, even to friends, as I've wasted a lot of money on "recommendations". I just felt that after having 15 samples on my kindle that didn't live up to the hype, this one really did.

@Tumbler2121 my go to genre was always psychological thrillers but I agree with you now re the twists. You either spot them coming a mile off (in which case you may as well stop reading it) or, the endings are so ridiculous I end up throwing it across the room.
I find it's also getting quite difficult to differentiate between a true author and a book written by a chat bot.

Seconded. Bloody brilliant novel. As is most of her writing.
