Hidden gems in prime reading...

What are some hidden gems you have found in prime reading that made you not want to put your kindle down?

I love a good thriller/mystery book, but am finding ones that actual thrill me hard to come across these days!

I also love a feel good/funny book.

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime
Remains of the Day
Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow
A Heart That Works
Demon Copperhead
Assassin's Apprentice
Klara and the Sun

All for 99p each.

I've got a backlog, so I've got to stop buying and start reading!

Oooh I haven't read any of those, thank you!

They were 99p when I bought them! I keep an eye on daily deals and limited deals.

Where the Crawdads Sing is 99p at the moment and was very popular.

I enjoyed The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams (also 99p today).

I don’t think any of those are available on prime reading @Mothership4two. Prime reading is books that Prime members can read as part of their membership at no additional charge.

@dontforgetme I really enjoyed Wild by Cheryl Strayed if you like non fiction.

JollyHostess101 · 03/04/2024 13:28

The Reading List was in Prime and I really liked it

Ditto Wild- I probably wouldn’t have read it otherwise!!

Haven’t had a look recently as have so much on my TBR pile since having a baby but will keep an eye here for suggestions!!

Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr and Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris are both supposed to be good stories - they are in my ever growing 'to read' pile, but I have read Heather Morris' prequel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which was a tough but interesting read although I had problems with the writing style TBH, but the tale itself based on a true story redeemed it for me.

Cloud cuckoo land is currently in Prime for free. I couldn't get into All the Light though, so haven't got it.
I got a sample of Notes on an Execution last night, and had to buy it this morning, it's hooked me. Don't think it's going to be a feel-good story somehow. 😏

I have recently read the following on prime reading which I really enjoyed:

  • Don't let her stay - Nicole Sanders (thriller - kept me guessing til the end)
  • Outback & Paradise - Patricia Wolf
  • The Castaways - Lucy Clarke (I love a good desert island thriller)
  • The wrong daughter - Dandy Smith (thriller - kept me guessing til the end)

Thanks for recs all, will make my way through all these.

Have just downloaded Wild, will make a cuppa and sit down to start it later this afternoon. I absolutely loved the film.

I have read Tattooist and Cilka, enjoyed both.

I got this rec from another thread, finished it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't want to put my kindle down, love it when a book does that to me! It's on prime reading.

The Nothing Man by Catherine Ryan Howard

Really good story and loved her writing style.
