Does such a book exist?
About a middle aged/ older woman, child free. Bit of humour would be good.
I seem to find endless books about being a mum but thats all.
Any recommendations please?

Would “Diary of a provincial Lady” by E.M.Delafield be any good? Written in 1930’s but highly rated

Is Miss Benson’s Beetle written as a diary?
It’s a great read anyway

Elizabeth and her German Garden

yes to Diary of a Provincial Lady, and also Mrs Tim of the Regiment by DE Stevenson, which is similar

Sorry, I just noticed that you’re looking for a child-free diarist , which some of these are not, eg the Provincial Lady & Mrs Tim,
but I think they have a light touch and they don’t go on and on about being a parent.

Was going to say Provincial Lady also - she has children but it’s not the point of the book! So funny
