Othello -- the kind of bore who was always getting you into a corner and banging on about his military exploits and the Anthropopagi and men whose head do grow beneath their shoulders etc. You'd never shut him up. And that's not even mention the murderous jealousy.

Don't suppose anyone remembers this book but Roscoe Rules from The Choir boys.

No one who has read that book would consider calling a little boy Roscoe.

The narrator in My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh . I know it's meant to be satirical and I'm not the demographic it's aimed at. Even so I'd struggle not to tell her to stop whining and do something useful!
