Can anyone remember this book? The daughter of a plantation owner who became an anti-slavery campaigner

Racking my brains to recall the title! I want to recommend it to a friend.

The main character is a young girl, brought up on a plantation and "given" a slave girl as a "present" by her mother. Even when very young, she knows how wrong this is. She (and I think, her sister?) grow up to become campaigners against slavery.

It's based on a real person.

TIA 🙂
