How have they got away with this?

Total first world problem but had been saving the latest book in a series (Love Heart Lane books by Christie Barlow) to read whilst travelling away for a funeral thinking it'd help pass the time.

Started reading The Library on Love Heart Lane and as I get into it start thinking I've read this before, all strangely familiar. Double check it definitely is the new book I've opened and it is.

Look back through Christie Barlows old books that I've read and realise this book is a rewritten version of Evie's Year of Taking Chances, a standalone book released in 2017, adapted to fit with the Love Heart Lane series!

So disappointed and feel pretty cheated by the author and publisher 😡

where did you buy it? can you do an online review?

I bought the kindle book off Amazon, pre-ordered it without a second thought as had loved the previous 12 books in the series! I've left a review and there are a few other 1 star reviews saying similar.

That sucks, and it should have been clearly labelled (as they do when the title has changed).

Have just checked and it does now say on Amazon previously published but now rewritten and improved but there was no mention of that on the author's Facebook page :( just promoted as a new book in the series. I loved the series so much I just pre-ordered without even reading what it was about!
