This is so random but a story I once read popped in to my mind for no reason and now it’s driving me insane trying to remember who it was by or what it was called or if it even existed!

I think it was a short story, either part of a collection or possibly an extra story at the end of another book.
it was about a writer who’s partner came up with his stories Then she died and he thought he’d never write again but on the first or last night of the month her ghost visits him and gives him the ideas to write the next story
Then he gets with someone else and the next time she visits him she tells him the idea for a story which already exists so he gets done for plagiarism as revenge for being with someone else.
Someone please tell me I didn’t imagine it.
