Anyone read Mike Gayle books?

A friend recommended his books and I am about half way through 'All the lonely people' and just loving it. I usually read crime novels so very different for me.

I have finished it and it was excellent, will definitely read more of his. Looks as though he has written quite a few.

I read quite a few of them when I was younger. Ex-girlfriend, Turning 30. They were okay. I wonder if he is one of those authors who writes about his age group. In which case i will have aged with him! I may check out his latest.

But yes I liked his stuff a few years ago, the male equivalent of chick lit. Last few haven't appealed as much but maybe I shall try again via the library.

Last one was about an elderly father and son -I guess he is like others said writing of his life stages.

I do hate kindles ability to hide books from your TO BE READ shelf!

Yes to the Kindle! I've just looked through my downloaded books and realised I had All the Lonely People so have started that now.

Oh no - I cried (a lot) at All the Lonely People. I cry at everything so will stock up on boxes of tissues.

I had never heard of him before and it is definitely not my usual crime genre but really enjoyed it. Off to check up on Kindle.😁

I loved My Legendary Girlfriend and quite liked Turning Thirty. Turning Forty was terrible though.

I love Mike Gayle books, need to read his latest ones though. Half a World Away was fantastic, but agree about the tissues. Off to look up All the Lonely People on Amazon now.

I've read quite a few of his some years back - as another poster said - a male version of chick lit and I thought funnier . I read Half a world away a couple of years ago - a bit different from his older stuff .
