Anything except crime/fantasy.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something probably fast paced with a lot of plot?

Usually read voraciously and I just haven't been.

I like:

Robert Harris
Jasper Fforde's stand alone books
Janice Hallet
Karen Thompson Walker

Especially love dystopian fiction and time travel but not just those genres.
