Good fiction series

I need to come up with a Christmas present idea for a family member to buy me…and need recommendations of a really good book series. I like all types of fiction - last year I got the Seven Sisters and loved it, have already asked for Sarah J Maas from another family member, I have loved CJ Sansom Shardlake books in the past - any other recommends for a series?

As you have enjoyed the Shardlake books you might want to look at the Marwood and Lovett series by Andrew Taylor. They are set during the Fire of London. Alternatively the Matthew Bartholomew series by Susanna Gregory set in medieval Cambridge.
