May I have your recommendations, please?

I'm looking for some to read with 15 yo DD who hates reading hut wants to improve her vocabulary. The shorter the better, really. And if they're funny, better still. She loves a laugh.

Have you tried any David Sedaris? Some are a bit ouch, but lots are hilarious. There’s one about buying his husband a stuffed owl, and another about picking up litter. Avoid the Christmas one though (Holidays on Ice) - I found some of it quite unpleasant.

What about Bill Bryson? Very funny, easy to read and shortish chapters in some.
