Interesting.

Lots that are quite recent; although this is often the case with "best lists" - as if people can't remember too far back. But when it says "of all time"....

Also, pretty international. For some reason, despite the fact that we share a common language, often these lists, if from a British source are often quite British. And vice versa for American ones. I think readers of novels are frequently strangely parochial.

Interesting list. Thanks for sharing. I'll take a look at some of the authors I haven't tried.

CanIPetThatDawg · 07/11/2023 14:32

I've read 12 of them which is more than I was expecting as I don't feel this is a genre I've delved into a whole lot. I might put some of the others on my tbr list.

Beast in View by Margaret Millar has stayed in my head. What a creepy and unsettling book. Would recommend.

bibliomania · 07/11/2023 16:26

I've read 14, which is less than I would have guessed. They use a wide interpretation of the genre, which is good.

bibliomania · 07/11/2023 16:32

*fewer than I would have guessed.

bigbadbarry · 07/11/2023 16:42

I've read 25, I love a thriller, and they're a couple on the list for which I've read others by the same author but not that one. A couple I haven't heard of have made it to my library wish list - it's a good, broad list, I think

bigbadbarry · 07/11/2023 16:44

26! I'd forgotten Six Four until I started to read its synopsis

MsAmerica · 24/11/2023 22:11

I noticed that, too, @tobee, that it was a bit more international than I might have expected.

I've read 15 of these - less than I thought as I love this genre.

Really interesting list - going to take notes now Halloween Grin Ideas for library loans next year.

devildeepbluesea · 25/11/2023 06:41

Great list - except for Gone Girl. I’m very much in the “couldn’t give a shit what happened to her” camp.

Wineisnottheanswer · 25/11/2023 06:46

31 read. Some interesting ones

JenniferJupiterVenusandMars · 25/11/2023 07:28

I’ve read 12 of them but I don’t honestly think they were particularly memorable 🤷🏼‍♀️

MsAmerica · 29/11/2023 22:54

Well, you're all ahead of me, as I've only read five.

I don't seek out mysteries to read. I always say that life is already enough of a mystery - I don't have to look for more.

Bruisername · 02/12/2023 21:40

Oops - mean zero interest in 10 of them!
