I’ve just finished and enjoyed Fingersmith , I like a plot with twists and turns and am keen on a mystery but I’m open to anything really. What do you suggest I read next?

Mad Honey, Jodi Picoult. Great plot twists.

Let me know what you think!

@SleeplessinSeattle69 , I’ve got some problems with my eyes at the moment (double vision ) and I haven’t been reading for ages. I really missed it and battled my way through Fingersmith. It takes me a long time to read but I will let you know.

The Observations and Gillespie and I by Jane Harris. Two of my favourites.

Also In Pale Battalions (and many others) by Robert Goddard

I'm just getting to the end of The Whalebone Theatre by Joanna Quinn and finding it totally absorbing. Such an engaging read. Life is a bit challenging just now and this is lovely escapism.

I suppose it's an obvious suggestion, but "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt? Not exactly a mystery, but a suspenseful plot.

Naomi's Room by Jonathan Aycliffe.
Haven't started it yet but I brought it after someone on here Recommended it. Apparently it's very spooky.
I've just finished The Push by Ashley Audrain, a great read.

Following with interest. I enjoyed maggie o'Farrell's latest book.

An instant at the finger post by Iain Pears

JaneyGee · 03/10/2023 20:37

Have you read any Sherlock Holmes? I also suffer eye problems, and have really got into audiobooks. Listening to Stephen Fry read Sherlock Holmes is pure bliss.

The Paying Guests also by Sarah Waters. Not a mystery but suspense and historical fiction.
