Can someone give me a spoiler about Pa Salt

I've just finished the first two of the Seven Sisters books and I don't think I can plough through the rest of them without knowing - is Pa Salt really dead?!

I don't want to read every spoiler of every thread in the novels hence not googling but it's irritating me beyond belief not knowing!

Oooh, I'm on book 3 and it hadn't occurred to me that he wasn't. Interesting theory!

Just wanted to update to say I have FINALLY finished the entire series...but I won't spoil it for anyone else Grin

Ok if you insist! Pa Salt was still alive but he was really unwell and the girls found out and travelled to see him and had a short time with him just before he died. They also found the missing sister, who was his biological daughter he never met. Remember the little boy Belle rescued from the garden in Paris? That was Atlas (Pa Salt) and he went on to be Bo in the second book, part of the Jewish couple who went to stay with Ally's grandparents in Norway.

Anyway the girls seem not to be traumatised to discover their father was alive after all and they all lived happily ever after. And Zed Eszu was given a cursed pearl because reasons.

MeinKraft thank you for the synopsis! I obviously hadn't read the last book!

ElleLeopine · 16/01/2024 14:55

@MeinKraft that is an excellent synopsis.

But I did find the stories of how each sister found her way to Pa Salt really interesting and touching.

The last book ties up so many loose ends, it really is worth giving it a go!

I loved the last book. Quite often with a series of books the ending can be a bit of an anti-climax but this was done well. Although I have to say I did wonder if maybe he might still be alive from quite early on.

Yeah it was a fantastic series. I've since read her Hothouse Flower and the Girl on the Cliff and really enjoyed both of them, probably more so than the Seven Sisters series actually. She had this way of giving clues that you realise when you've read the story were SO OBVIOUS but somehow the stories are still full of surprises.

I finished it the other day. Was blown away with the series as a whole, it's so clever.

The one thing that seriously annoyed ne about the end: why did Jack not go in to meet Atlas? Bear did, so why not Jack, and his sister too, for that matter?

@MeinKraft I can really recommend The Love Letter by Lucinda also. So many twists and turns.
