Are there any 'summer holiday romance' novels that have a bit more about them??

I've read too many 'Cafe on the beach' type summer novels. Looking for something a bit more literary.

Liane Moriarty has some good light weight books- try 'What Alice Forgot' or 'The Last Anniversary'

Although they're not strictly romance to be honest....

Try Americanah by Chimamande Ngozi Adiche, it’s a love story but with lots of other stuff weaved in.
