Is there a way to change the % read on kindle

To show you the percentage of the actual book you've read.

Just had yet another book where there wasn't as much left as I thought and it drives me mad.

I was 85% last night and thought I would save the rest for today.... turns out it finished 89% and the rest is a sample of another of the author's books.

This doesn't always happen though so not like I can bank on them all finishing around 90%.

Has anyone found a way around this.

Can't you have a look at the chapters first so you know that the end is a sample? I doubt you can change the percentage

I don’t even know how to get the percentage. It just shows up randomly,

Whenwillitallmakesense · 23/06/2023 12:43

OP, the % is the length of the whole book product - some include chapters of an upcoming new book, some don't. As pp says, just check how many chapters there are if it bothers you that much.

@ArseInTheCoOpWindow you can just gently tap bottom of the page and the %, reading speed, location, how long till next chapter etc will appear.

@Whenwillitallmakesense 😲

As easy as that?

Whenwillitallmakesense · 23/06/2023 12:49

Yeah. It probably disappears or appears every now because you've tapped bottom of page without realising when turning pages or something

@TellerTuesday can't you just turn it off? On mine there is a 'reading progress' option. You can select 'none' or have it showing location in book or time left in book. I always have it set to none. Not sure if some models have different settings?
