About halfway through this and really enjoying it. Not what I expected. Very interesting to hear her memories of the queen's coronation. She has had a very interesting life

Is it the Lady Glenconner one?

That was a great read. I thought she was very honest about her own failings and how she could have done things differently e.g. staying with her husband, sending their sons to boarding school at a young age.

Her husband was loathsome wasn't he ?
Looking at photos of their wedding I felt he was punching well above.

She had tough times in her life. Children with addictions and then the fight over her nasty husband's will.
Two of her sons died youngish and her third son was severely injured in a motorbike accident.
The words of Pádraig Pearse's poem The Mother resonate :
".....Lord, thou art hard on mothers:
We suffer in their coming and

their going... "

One of the things that I remember from it was that Princess Margaret was always small and when she was a child she hated it when Queen Mary used to mention it.
