Mumsnet please help? I need a good young adult fiction (or non fiction based on truth ) book. I'm reading best seller lists but he's read most of them. Adult stuff suited to a 16 year old too is ok. What can I buy him?!

I was bought the world according to Garp as 18 year old and liked it. Any other quirky yet classics? We both loved one that I can't think of the name of now (awful grammar sorry. Only had one beer too 😣). It was about a pilot (US airforce, his life , struggles who crashed and survived in a tiny raft ). It's going to annoy me now. ...maybe a Matt Haig though I fear he'll have read those

Rivers of London? It’s an adult book but very easy to read.

Ready Player One

If into Sci Fi and Fantasy then
Asimov I Robot

If into interesting facts
The Story Behind
How to survive a freakin bear attack
The Ghost Army of WW2 How one top secret agent deceived the enemy

Interesting spin on current events
Anything by Peter Zeihan

Red Rising is a good space dystopia if he liked things like Hunger Games and Percy Jackson.

Life: An Exploded Diagram by Mal Peet - actually lots of things by Mal Peet, he was a great writer for YAs.
