I want something I can't put down

I'm quite fussy. Sorry! No classics, nothing like Piranesi or paper palace or anything like that. Nothing I have to really concentrate on. No fantasy or sci fi and nothing like shuggie Bain

Just something instantly absorbing and easy to get into.

Thanks!

Restless - William Boyd
Life Class - Pat Barker
The Little Stranger - Sarah Waters

Loved all of these!

Failing that Poirot stories are always pacier and darker than their screen adaptations whilst being straightforward to read.

The Strike series. I'm always amazed by how quickly her writing pulls me in; it's compulsive!

I’ve recently read the night she disappeared- by lisa jewel. It might be what you’re looking for.

Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout

American dirt has got to be one of the most gripping books I've read. I couldn't put it down and then thought about it for weeks after. I actually felt sad when I finished it as I loved it so much.

The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell and most of her more recent ones.
