Just read this and genuinely laughed out loud more times than I can count. I loved it, first book to genuinely make me laugh out loud in years (woke my husband up several times when I was reading it after he had already gone to sleep).

Can anyone recommend either anything similar or which has made them LOL like that?

Thanks in advance.

I recommend the same book ALL the time because it’s the only book I’ve ever read that has made me belly laugh out loud.

I mean, it was hilarious but equally deeply heartrendingly sad. The funniest parts (eg the trip abroad in the camper van & subsequent altar singing) were also utterly painful. That's what makes it so amazing.

I similarly loved Patrick Freyne's OK, let's do your stupid idea which had a lot of moving moments and is brilliantly written.

It's the funny thing about reading isn't it. I hated this book! Instead of finding it funny, I found the violence really upsetting.

I loved the book too. If you follow him on Twitter he links to his columns in the Graun and an Irish paper... he's always a good read.
