...I suggest The Thursday Murder Club and the subsequent books.

Not my usual pick -up but utterly charming and engaging and entertaining and it's helped me out if mine

They are good aren’t they? I’m eagerly awaiting the new one in the autumn. Meanwhile, I’m working my way through some of the suggestions on here.

Sorry but I really couldn't get on with them! But I know others have liked them. I just read To Kill at Mockingbird. Can't believe I hadn't read it before. I çan really recommend it.
