Handbag for books

I desperately need a new everyday bag and don't want anything huge, but really would like to be able to fit a book in if possible.

What do you use?

A roka backpack. Don't really do handbags these days. And I always want to carry a book too.

I like Coach - cross body light , practical, book sized and has a ring for keys

I have backpacks of the Mountain Warehouse style but would like something more work/commute suitable! I'm so scruffy and need to change!

Mia Tui do a number of bags that look nice & you can fit a book / kindle in.

I have a few handbags from fossil and they're a decent size for having a book etc!!

I've got this backpack: www.muji.eu/uk/product/water-repellent-backpack-with-handle-a4-13380 which is marginally more work suitable than a hiking backpack - I have a dodgy back so had to stop using my big shoulder bag every day, and I hate crossbody ones. I used to have a little shoulder bag that would fit essentials (book, purse, phone, keys) that was perfect for if I was going to a gig, but it fell apart and I've never found an ideal replacement.

More bags should be perfect book sized.

I have the Hush Albany cross-body bag which holds a slim paperback, purse, phone, glasses, keys. Soft leather so no rigid sides - It's perfect and has become my everyday bag since WFH
