No way am I going to get through 20 or even 25 boos- I don't know how any of you manage it. However, I like to have a little pile on the go and add more to it as I read them or have a little Amazon TBR list on the go.
Tell me what's on your TBR pile or list, and what are the best books you've ever read for others to add to theirs.
My current pile is only small and it includes:
A Picture of Dorian Tray by Oscar wild,
Treacle Walker by Alan Garner,
Small Things like These by Claire Keegan,
Wilf Hall Trilogy by Hilary Mantel,
The Perfect Golden Circle by Benjamin Myers,
Istanbul by Bettany Huges (this has been on the pile for years- its just too big and daunting to even start!)
The Island by Victoria Hislop
My favourite book I read last year was The Gallows Pole by Benjamin Myers- I loved this, partly because I'm local to where the story is set in Halifax, and partly because it's a really gritty, brilliantly described story based on true events and characters. It is currently being made into a TV series.
My favourite books I think everyone should read are:
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier,
The colour Purple by Alice Walker,
The secret History by Donna Tartt,
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley,
The Beach by Alex Garland,
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
If I get through my TBR pile and a few more Ill be pleased with myself.
