Currently addicted to big family sagas. I absolutely loved The Cazalet Chronicles and Hardacre also Rosamund Pilcher.
I need another series to get my teeth into. If you’ve enjoyed the above what would you recommend?

I loved a series by Sheelagh Kelly which started with 'A Long Way From Heaven' then 'For My Brothers Sins' and 'Erin's Child' I really enjoyed these. Last one was 'Dickie' not quite so good but the first three were great.

A bit less classy but I found them mostly really enjoyable were the Lillian Harry series about Portsmouth - um, April Lane? Will look them up. I would call them undemanding but involving reads.

April Grove!

The Avenue goes to war and the dreaming suburbs R F Delderfield. Although maybe they are too old fashioned now.

I'll Bring You Buttercups by Elizabeth Elgin. There are a few books in the series, which starts in WW1 and continues to WW2.
She also wrote a stand alone book set in WW2 called One Summer at Deer's Leap, which I also really enjoyed.

Was going to suggest the RF Delderfield one, think it was about a farming family from memory.

The Sisters of the Quantock Hills quartet by Ruth Ellen Harris are beautiful books. They start in 1910 and go up to the 30s, with WW1 a hugely significant chunk of 3/4 of the books
