My DD is just getting into reading after about a 10 year break 😣can anyone suggest any recent good reads? She's been reading some Colleen Hoover books so something different to those!

Does it have to be recent? Day of the Triffids is an easy read and a great story.

My 16 year old loves Taylor Jenkins Reid - her favourite was the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo

I second Taylor Jenkins Reid - Malibu Rising is great!

My 16- about-to-turn-17 year old niece really likes Colleen Hoover and put several of the back catalogue on her Christmas list. Not sure if it is a help at all but here is the rest of the list she gave me (to choose one or two bits from of course, not all of it!). I've read precisely none of them but will copy and paste the list in case anyone's curious or in case it helps.

The Shatter Me series, Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson, We Were Liars, They Both Die at The End, Eleanor and Park, Everything by Nicola Yoon, Red White & Royal Blue, Things We Never Got Over, The Hunger Games trilogy, Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan, The Sun is Also a Star.

Taylor Jenkins Read seems like a good shout too.

Do you think she'd like dark academia? What about The Secret History by Donna Tart.
